MEET

Fernando Lucano

Fernando Dias, renowned as Fernando Lucano, was born on April 15, 1989, in Luanda. His artistic journey commenced during his adolescent years while attending high school.

In 2010, he served as an assistant to artists Lino Damião and Nelo Teixeira at the National Union of Visual Artists (UNAP). Subsequently, in 2014, he worked alongside Francisco Vidal and Rita RG at E-stúdio in Luanda. His four-year collaboration with artists António Olé and Alexis Pexine further nurtured his artistic development, culminating in the creation of his unique artistic style.

Fernando Lucano has participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions, including "New Era Humanity" in Lisbon in 2021, "Entre a Arte e a Reciclagem" at the Hotel Thomson House in Luanda in 2019, "Ser Cidade" at Económico Bank in 2018, and "Impressões e Expressões" at Tamar Golan (Art and Culture Foundation) in 2017.

He was an active member of the BJAP (Brigade of Young Angolan Artists), showing his dedication to the world of art.

Fernando Lucano died in March 2024 of cancer.
