Sherin Elbaroudi

Sherin Elbaroudi (b. 1981, Egypt) is an award-winning contemporary visual artist known for her distinctive integration of geography and cartography into contemporary painting and drawing. With a career spanning over two decades, she has gained national and international acclaim for her conceptual depth, technical mastery, and visual storytelling.

A graduate of the Faculty of Art Education (2003) and holder of a Master’s degree in Arts Education (2016), Elbaroudi’s academic background laid the foundation for her profound and methodical approach to visual art. Her practice combines fine art techniques with map-based imagery, exploring themes of identity, memory, human connection, and the physical and emotional geographies we inhabit.

Sherin has participated in major group exhibitions and international symposia, including the Egyptian Youth Salon, Beijing International Biennale (2017), Luxor International Painting Symposium (2017), and the International Book Biennial at the Romanian Museum of Modern Art (2011). Her work has earned numerous awards, affirming her place as one of Egypt’s leading contemporary voices.

Her paintings are held in public and private collections around the world, including at the Museum of Modern Art of Egypt (Cairo), Museum of the Book of Art (Romania), Museum of Seljek University (Turkey), and the Ministry of Culture of Cyprus. She is also represented in collections in Austria, France, India, Belgium, Russia, and Italy.

Sherin Elbaroudi’s practice is deeply rooted in a visual language that bridges topography and emotion, offering viewers a rich and layered exploration of human experience through the lens of place. Her cartographic symbolism and contemporary techniques make her work globally resonant, intellectually engaging, and visually arresting.
