About The Artwork

In Behind Freedom, the artist weaves a quiet tension between grace and restraint, using the delicacy of watercolor to unfold a layered meditation on the nature of autonomy.

Hands emerge, tender yet firm, cradling a glowing spherical form that bears a human face - part mask, part soul. Rendered in warm amber hues and kissed by cool blue tones, the image breathes with contradiction. Above it all, a veil of translucent white drapery floats, suggesting both shelter and suppression - the comfort of care, and the weight of control.

The work is as much about absence as presence. The artist’s mastery of negative space and gentle fluidity reveals the spaces where power is held, where freedom slips, and where it is redefined by unseen forces.

Behind Freedom asks us to consider:
Can freedom ever be untouched by the hands that offer it?
And what is the cost of holding it too tightly?
