Black is Gold III by Nadia Wamunyu deepens the artist’s exploration of Black Art, rendered in delicate yet powerful watercolour on paper. With luminous golden tones, Wamunyu celebrates the inherent richness and dignity of Black identity, transforming portraiture into a statement of pride and resilience.

Her subtle layering of watercolour creates a balance between fragility and strength, where softness becomes a form of resistance and beauty an act of affirmation. The portrait radiates cultural memory and presence, situating itself firmly within the global dialogue of Black Art.

As part of Afrikanizm Art’s curated collection, Black is Gold III completes the trilogy with a distinctive resonance — a collector’s piece that embodies continuity, transformation, and the timeless brilliance of Black Art in contemporary practice.
