Yola Balanga

Yola Balanga (b. 1994, Luanda) is an Angolan visual artist and transdisciplinary performer working across performance, installation, photography, and video. Based in Madrid, her practice explores the body, spirituality, memory, and Black feminine identity through gesture and ritual.

Winner of the Prince Claus Seed Award (2022), her work has been exhibited internationally and moves between the intimate and the political, creating spaces of remembrance and reimagining.
