About The Artwork

"The outsiders; diaries of a nonconformist" Series

In a world fraught with prejudices, biases, and systemic inequalities, the quest for freedom is a formidable challenge, particularly for women. The intersection of womanhood and freedom is a complex narrative shaped by pervasive misogyny, which seeks to confine women within narrow boundaries, limiting their autonomy and potential. Despite significant strides toward gender equality, women continue to grapple with societal expectations, harmful stereotypes, and institutionalized discrimination that obstruct their path to true liberation.

For women, the pursuit of freedom involves navigating a labyrinth of societal norms and expectations that dictate their behavior, choices, and desires. The pressure to conform to traditional gender roles, prioritize caregiving over personal ambitions, and shrink themselves to fit into conventional molds poses a significant barrier to their autonomy. Women are frequently scrutinized, judged, and policed for their appearance, behavior, and aspirations, reinforcing the notion that their worth is contingent upon their adherence to patriarchal standards.

Despite the formidable challenges posed by misogyny, women persist in their pursuit of freedom, carving out spaces of resistance and empowerment amidst adversity. Through collective action, advocacy, and solidarity, women have mobilized to challenge oppressive structures, dismantle systemic inequalities, and amplify their voices in the public sphere. It is indeed a long walk to freedom!
