Not Another Black Art Show: Redefining Black Art Narratives in Denver
From May 30 to June 29, 2025, Niza Knoll Gallery in Denver's Art District on Santa Fe presents "Not Another Black Art Show," a compelling exhibition curated by Tyree Jones-Evans. This showcase features works by Johnny Draco, Joseph Graves, Jasmine Holmes, Angel Tirado, Devin Urioste, and Jones-Evans herself, aiming to challenge and expand the conventional narratives associated with Black art.
The exhibition's title, "Not Another Black Art Show," serves as a provocative statement, inviting viewers to move beyond stereotypical expectations and engage with the unique perspectives and styles of each artist. By doing so, the show emphasizes the individuality of Black artists and the breadth of their creative expressions.
An opening reception is scheduled for June 7, from 6 to 9 p.m., providing an opportunity for attendees to meet the artists and discuss their works. Additionally, a panel discussion will take place on June 20, from 1 to 4 p.m., offering deeper insights into the themes and motivations behind the exhibition.
"Not Another Black Art Show" is part of Niza Knoll Gallery's ongoing commitment to presenting thought-provoking and diverse exhibitions. Located at 915 Santa Fe Drive, the gallery is open Thursday through Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m., with extended hours during special events.
