Dennis Muraguri
Dennis Muraguri (b. 1980, Naivasha, Kenya) is a Nairobi-based multidisciplinary artist working across printmaking, sculpture, video, and installation. He is widely recognized for his vibrant hand-printed woodcuts depicting Kenya’s matatu minibuses and the dynamic urban culture surrounding them.
Muraguri holds a degree in Painting and Art History from the Buru-Buru Institute of Fine Arts (2015) and has been a resident artist at Kuona Artists’ Collective since 2005. His work has been exhibited extensively in Nairobi and internationally, including at Circle Art Gallery, the Vitra Design Museum, the Nairobi National Museum, 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair (London), and the Jo’burg Art Fair.
