Patrick Mukabi
Patrick Mukabi (b. 1969, Kenya) is a prominent Kenyan artist whose career spans over three decades. He began his artistic training in 1988 at the Creative Art Centre before earning a certificate in graphic design at Kenya Polytechnic. A pivotal early moment came in 1994, when he placed second in an art competition organized by Gallery Watatu, an achievement that helped launch his professional path.
Beyond his own practice, Mukabi is deeply committed to nurturing emerging talent. He mentors approximately fifty young artists at his Dust Depo studio, fostering one of Nairobi’s important creative spaces. His works are held and displayed in significant public venues in Kenya, including the National Museums of Kenya and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
