Romeo Niyigena

Romeo Niyigena, born in 1999 in Kigali, Rwanda, is a multidisciplinary artist who has been nurturing his passion for art since his early years in elementary school. Growing up in Kigali, he discovered his profound love for artistic expression, which set the foundation for his future career in the arts.

Driven by a strong desire to formalize his education in the arts, Niyigena pursued his studies with the goal of becoming a graphic designer. This pursuit led him to the Ecole d’arts de NYUNDO, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of art and design. In 2018, he graduated, equipped with the knowledge and techniques necessary to embark on his professional artistic journey.

Niyigena's primary mediums are oils and acrylics on canvas, through which he brings his artistic visions to life. His work is heavily inspired by the diversity of the world, a fascination that has been further fueled by the internet. This access to a global platform allowed him to explore various cultures, especially those within Africa, which have significantly influenced his artistic style and themes.
