Bryant Small
Bryant Small is an artist, curator, and educator based in Jersey City, New Jersey, whose practice is deeply rooted in color, culture, and community. As Associate Curator at the Morris Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate, he champions inclusive and forward-thinking exhibition-making, most notably with the acclaimed 2024 exhibition New Sculpture/New Jersey.
His work with alcohol ink on Yupo paper has earned international recognition for its vibrancy and emotional resonance. Featured on Art Market Magazine’s Gold List of Top Emerging Contemporary Artists and recipient of multiple Conception Arts Awards, his paintings have been exhibited globally and are held in private collections worldwide.
Beyond his studio, Small is committed to arts education and advocacy. He has taught at Saint Elizabeth University, served in leadership roles with Pro Arts Jersey City and the Jersey City Arts Council, and co-founded Kaleidoscope.Art — a collaborative platform that nurtures creative partnerships across disciplines.
