Founded in 2019 by Alberto Chiavacci and Nicola Furini, LIS10 Gallery was born
from a shared devotion to contemporary art — and to the voices that shape its
most urgent and luminous narratives. What began as a meeting between an art
collector passionate about contemporary African creation and a gallerist with
deep experience in modern and contemporary art has evolved into a bridge
connecting continents, cultures, and generations.
With spaces in Arezzo, Paris, and Hong Kong, LIS10 Gallery is dedicated to
promoting contemporary artists from Africa and its diaspora, situating their work
in conversation with the broader currents of global art history. Its roster —
including Aboudia, Joël Bigaignon, Armand Boua, Tope Fatunmbi, Jack Kabangu,
Laetitia Ky, Gonçalo Mabunda, James Mishio, Michelle Okpare, Médéric Turay,
Agnès Waruguru, and Saint-Étienne Yeanzi — reflects the gallery’s commitment
to diversity of form, thought, and expression.
Every exhibition is conceived as an act of connection — between heritage and
experimentation, memory and vision. LIS10 Gallery seeks to illuminate the deep,
evolving relationship between African contemporary art and the legacies of
European modernity, exploring how social transformation and artistic language
continually shape one another.
Beyond its physical spaces, the gallery engages in international collaborations,
including participation in major fairs such as AKAA (Also Known As Africa),
fostering dialogue among artists, collectors, and institutions. Its mission is clear
yet ever-expanding: to cultivate understanding through art — to create a living
platform where the past informs the future, and where creativity becomes a
shared act of transformation.
