Josué Muxito

Born in 1997 in the vibrant city of Luanda, where he continues to live and create, Josué Muxito is a soul deeply committed to the world of art. Artist, student, and teacher, his journey is woven with a quiet yet unwavering dedication that becomes evident in every creative gesture.

His artistic awakening took place in 2020, after completing the Artistic Creation course at the Polytechnic Institute of Arts 9011 – Cearte in 2018, where he specialized in Painting. Since then, he has established himself as a promising figure within the Angolan visual and plastic arts scene, standing out for the contagious passion with which he embraces the artistic process.

Currently in his fourth year of a degree in Visual and Plastic Arts at the Faculty of Arts – FAARTES, Josué Muxito follows his path with relentless curiosity and a profound respect for material and gesture. Throughout his trajectory, he has explored a wide range of techniques — painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture — in a continuous exercise of discovery and reinvention. His work delves into the poetic tension between tradition and contemporaneity, revealing a visual universe where past and present engage in a harmonious dialogue.

The Museum of West African Art (MOWAA) in Benin City opens in November 2025 as a major cultural hub.
