Micaela Zua
Micaela Zua (b. 1984, Portugal) is a self-taught analog collage artist of Angolan heritage. Her practice is rooted in precision, silence, and memory, working primarily with archival photographs of African communities.
Through subtle gestures of cutting and layering, she creates minimalist compositions where faces are partially obscured — not to erase, but to protect. Her work inhabits the space between presence and absence, inviting a quiet, reflective way of seeing.
