Sanjo Lawal
Sanjo Lawal is a multidisciplinary artist and photographer based in Lagos, Nigeria. A graduate of Yaba College of Technology, his practice is defined by vibrant colour, layered textures, and symbolic elements that merge the spiritual with the urban. Deeply influenced by everyday life and his mother’s visual sensibility, Lawal combines photography, painting, and recycled materials to create expressive and intimate compositions.
His work explores identity, community, and inner presence through portraits that transcend representation. Blurring the boundaries between media, Lawal transforms each image into a space of cultural affirmation and visual reinvention.
